A collage of four black-and-white photos includes a woman with dark hair smiling, a display table of art and merchandise at a market or store, a wooden guitar-shaped board with floral and fruit designs, and a tablet screen showing a drawing of peaches and flowers with a cat's nose and whiskers visible in the foreground.

Hello, I’m Elyssa

A Nottingham-based designer and illustrator with a love for all things creative—and a bit of a soft spot for the dark, the gothic and the natural world. I’ve been working in design for over 15 years now, across everything from book covers and band merch to branding, packaging, and board game art.

You might know me from my business, Print is Dead, where I create moody, dark fantasy and gothic artwork. It’s a one-person operation, so I handle everything—from the illustrations and design to photography, packaging, and social media. It means I get to be hands-on with every part of the process and make sure everything I put out into the world feels just right.

Over the past seven years, I’ve grown Print is Dead into a successful online shop with customers all over the world, and you can now find my work in stores internationally too. Alongside running the business, I’ve worked on loads of exciting freelance projects, including pattern design, book art, magazines, t-shirts, and even board games.

When I’m not working, I’m probably listening to music, tinkering with guitars, or getting overly competitive at board games. And of course cats.

Got a project you think I’d be a good fit for? I’d love to hear from you! Get in touch here.
